I wonder how far he could cast a swimbait ? .....next, I wonder how much farther that swimbait would go if he snapped it off on the swing ?  :-)

I see you found my post at AA.net. I would definitely not put my thumb on that spool.   Until I saw that video, I always thought a spinning reel could outcast a casting reel. :
