Shimano Chronarch B or Curado D?

Featured Replies

I recently purchases a Shimano Chronarck B, and was wondering if I shoud have purchased the Curado D instead!

I have seen many posts about the Curado being a good reel, and not too many reviews about the Chronarchs!

Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

the chronarch is a better reel

buttery smooth retrieve better gears

i have owned both

i had a bpv chronarch and 100d curado

both sweet reels but the chronarch was better

Chronach is better. Curado is good as well. Just more people have the Curado because of the price.

With the Chronarch B, all models come with HEG.  In order to get the HEG in the Curado, you have to step-up to the 200 size.  The difference between the two reels then, is almost an ounce in weight.  Just a little something to keep in mind.

The Chronarch has one to two more bearings than the Curado as well, depending upon the model.

I believe the Chonarch has an aluminum crankside sideplate.  It's graphite on the Curado 100D (aluminum on the 200D).
