I bought the Megaforce today!

Well, I was all mixed up looking at the reels today! I wanted to spend no more than $79.00 but the $ 59.00 caught my eye. I just hope I will be happy with it. Any input?

Dan

I picked one up a few weeks ago and have taken it out to the lake twice now. So far I think it's just ok. It casts well and reels smooth, but the drag refuses to stay set. It'll loosen itself while I'm fishing so I have to keep checking it. >;)

The twitching bar seemed like a good idea in the store and works well in the backyard, but doesn't offer enough leverage to use it in heavy weeds. I find it easier/better to twitch the rod like I would with a standard BC reel.

Overall I think it's a decent reel for the money, but I think I'd much rather have an older Procaster 6+1 for the same price.

I love the super fast gear ratio of this reel. The main reason I bought one was to fish buzz baits.

Thanks, For the info, I was going to use the Megaforce on my frog rod.my frog rod is a 7' 10" H action and I will be fishing 50lb. Power Pro. I hope this reel is up to the task!!!!!! :-/ :-[ :-? :-? ;) ;)

I got one and use it for fishing buzzbaits, and frogs.  I use the twitchin bar occasionally with the frogs.

I bought one on the recommendation of a freind.

When I got it home and took it out of the box of course the first thing I did was promply drop it on the ground from about 2' high.  It fell on the reel handle.  The thing was mangled and I barely dropped it.

The handle flexes like it's made out of soft lead.  I bent it right back into place.  I have visions of this happening when there is a decent fish on the line.  I haven't had it out on the water yet but I'm more than a little concerned about how it will hold up over the course of a season.  I'm guessing it will last one year and then be spent. ;)
