Looking for advice on a good quality crankbait rod in the $200 range. I'm more comfortable with 7' and up. Considering Gloomis and would appreciate your reviews and suggestions.

I have three Powell CB series rods in graphite.

My favorite is the 706 CB model for deep cranking.

If you like split handle designs, you would really like it. Around $170.

I have a Loomis cranking stick, and I like it also. I just favor the Powell design.

take a look at the CBR 843. This is my rod for cranks. One thing I will say, if you throw cranks heavier than 5/8 oz, you may want to look at the 845.

Take a look at the Rogue crank bait line.  It features a graphite blank, that blends into glass in the upper third of the blank.  It is incredible.

cbr 845 is the most versatile...in my hands, the 843 is a tad wimpy...the 847 for poes, fatfrees and dd22's.

This rod is what you want for deep divers. I was torn between the Lamiglas and the Powell. You cant go wrong with either one of these rods. Enjoy.

There are two crankbait rods I use.  I use SMR814C-CB for hard jerkbaits and shallow & medium depth running crankbaits.  For larger and deep running crankbaits along with lipless crankbaits, I use the CBR906C.  I am very pleased with these rods and they don't have the weight of most glass crankbait rods.  I also don't like the real moderate action of traditional crankbait rods.  These rods suit my needs perfectly (Disclaimer: this is my opinion only).

I like to think of it as more of a cream-of-carrot, or ripened pumpkin. :

One things for sure, if you carry several rods, this one will never get lost in the crowd!

First let me offer my sincere apologies for not being thorough enough in my thoughts, description and needs prior to posting. At first it was going to be strickly for deep diving cranks and a 1oz wake bait with the idea of purchasing another rod for swimbaits up to 3oz. For such baits as Mattlures,Rago Rat and the new 6"Huddleston. After following a few of the links and suggestions you've offered I believe I found one rod I can use for both applications.
