Bass Pro Tourney Baitcaster

Featured Replies

Just wondering about a code I saw in Heartland magazine. It is advertising this reel for 30 dollars and free shipping. I am a firm believer in u get what u pay for, but am wondering if it would be worth it to have as a spare or jus to play with.

Does anybody have one, are they any good at all. It gets mixed reviews on the basspro website.

Thanks ;)

I got one a few weeks ago to see if it was any good, but sold it before I got a chance to use it. From what I could see, it's a Pinnacle product. The handle, knobs, click-adjust drag, lettering, and stickers on the frame are all VERY similar to the Pinnacle LP100 I had.

I'm sure several people here ordered it, but I haven't heard/seen anybody give a report.

I bought 4 of them and while they are not close to the quality of some of the more expensive reels, they are very good quality for the money.  I actually ordered one and like it well enough to order 3 more.  I have them on 2 rods and I have 2 under the seat as back-up reels.  If you want more than 1 you have to order them separately without signing into your BPS account and I had to wait until I had received one before ordering the next or BPS would cancel it as a duplicate order.  You can order more than 1 through your account but be prepared to pay shipping if you do.

Thanks For the info. I think I will try one. It wont let me post the link i have, but if you go to bass pros site use code ms193 or if you call to order use L8BW

I bought 1 that I put on a spare rod for a loaner..

1st thing I did was tear it down and clean everything out and re-oiled it..seems like a decent reel for $30
