What has been your experience with these rods?  Are the old rods just as good as the new ones?  A buddy of mine has two of the older ones ('05 or '06) for sale and said he would let them go for $25 each.  I haven't seen them yet, he just told me over the phone.  

Did they always have the XPS balancing option?  What is the reel seat like on the old ones? (I know the new ones have the nice soft reel seat)  Do you have a pic of one?

Any thoughts are appreciated!   ;)
