Abu Garcia Revo S makes me feel like a newb

Featured Replies

Hey guys.  I just bought a new Revo S (LH of course).  It is my second Revo.  I have an SX also.  My problem is that I can't seem to get to the internal brake to set it.  Is there some trick that I am missing?

Thanks

J

Lol, I almost bought a Curado with the nice rebate but I couldn't make myself do it. :-?

loosen the small thumbscrew on the top of the handle side plate until it's loose. Grasp the palm plate and rotate the front of the plate upwards (counter clockwise on a leftie when looking straight at it.)

Thanks Cart!  I tried that but I think I rotated it the wrong way.

The sideplate opens the same on all the Revos...

I finally figured it out.  It should say something for Abu's though.

The side plate had such a tight tolerance, I really had to pull to get it to rotate.   8-)

It still has absolutely nothing to do with the question at hand, way to go.   ::)

And on the 4 Revos that I own they are all fairly tight to start but after removing the sideplate a few times they loosen up a little.  Although I re-lube my reels often so am removing the sideplate at least every week during season.
