Cruxis, Pro Max, Exceler, Extreme?

Featured Replies

I have a little extra money and have bought most of the lures I need for now.  I'm looking to replace my Abu C3 because it doesn't get the job done with bass lures.  I want a reel to go on my crankin/topwater rod, which is a 6'6 Shimano Clarus.  I already have a Shimano Cruxis and love it!  Is there a big difference between the Citica and Cruxis?  It just seems like everyone uses Citicas.  I want to keep it in the $80 range.  What should I go with: another Cruxis, Abu Pro Max,  Diawa Exceler, or BPS Extreme reel?

If it was me I would stay with the Abu reels. They are running a $10 rebate right now and the best prices I have found are at www.baitnhook.net. You might even consider the Revo S once you see the prices. Pretty good discount and the rebate really makes it look good.

I would pass on the BPS Extreme. I retired the one Extreme I had. Not familiar with the others. I am a bit partial to Abu since I have 5 Revo STX's that are great.  :)
