I've heard a LOT of hype about this stuff (RW ;D ;D)

I'm just wondering, what are the advantages, etc. What presentations do you use it for, and what # test do you reccomend.

I figured I'd give it a shot and see how it goes.

It's limp, it doesn't coil very much, and it's very strong. I use it on my spinning gear for any soft plastics. It would be good at other applications as well. For spinning, I would try #6. I haven't used it on my baitcaster yet.

What presentations do you use it for

I use it for everything.

I currently use 12# Ultra soft on a couple of my baitcasters. Very impressed with it. I have used it for 2 years now. Very little memory, strong and just an all around great line.

RW raves about Yo-Zuri Ultrasoft. I can only speak for Yo-Zuri hybrid and I like to use it around rocks. Very managable. It is one of my favorite lines. I cant wait to try to ultrasoft.

Gonna order some soon, What size do you recomend for a baitcaster and i have seen somewhere that 12# is actually like 19 what does that mean? and Also what is better just hybrid or ultrasoft

It's awesome I use it for everything.  Even if it isn't ultrasoft just spray it with some KVD L&L and it becomes just like it.

Yo Zuri Hybrid....high tensile strength, decent abrasion resistance, high memory. I'll use it on a baitcast reel but not on a spinning reel. The Ultra Soft may be better than Hybrid on spinning gear but I havent tried the US so I won't speak about that.

Ultra soft when treated with KVD L&L is almost as limp as braid. Excellent line, and I have used most all of them. I still use Power Pro braid for heavy line/cover applications, but Ultra Soft works for everything else. JMHO

I use the 6# Ultra Soft on my spinning application.  I use it for soft plastics and it's the only thing I plan on using in the forseeable future.

Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test)

Baitcasting gear: Ultra Soft #12 (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb test)

Both original formula Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft are a bonded (not coated) fluorocarbon/ nylon copolymer. Ultra Soft is more limp because of a higher percentage of nylon in the blend. The lines are impervious to water and UV light so they last indefinitely. Both are highly abrasion resistant, have low stretch and float!

I have been fishing these lines for more than three years.

I have never been broken-off by a fish using these lines.

I was fishing for Mud Marlin's last nite and to attest to the strength,

I got owned... but it was because my hook failed.  Pulled up and my hook was straight as an arrow.  

Hybrid line was till all intact... no line or knot failure... good line

Question:  

Which color in Hybrid is good in terms of visiblilty... I am using Clear now, but wondering if the Camo Green or even Smoke or any other color works better.  I know it's not 100% floro but any ideas?

Original Hybrid: Green in clear water and smoke in stained water are virtually invisible.

Ultra Soft: I use both clear and green and they are both visible in clear water, but I think the green blends better. In stained water, either is fine.

have been using the hybrid on tip-down baits a few months now...for allround use, it has been a tough line to beat.

still use pure fluoro on tip-up baits, tho...just seem to get a slightly better feel.

Do you put it on with backing or spool it directly.  Just waiting for my Cabela's order to come in.  Couldn't find it anywhere locally.

You don't need backing.
