Frog rod for under 100 dollars?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I was wondering what is a good frog rod for under 100 dollars?

I have an allstar ASR series that I love! Lightest rod I own. It was 99.00 at Cabellas. I think they have two topwater models in the ASR series.

I agree with the All Star recommendation.  All Star makes a few nice rods right around $100:

1)  ASR model ASR866C 7'2' MH/F

2) Team All Star Big Boy model TAS 867BB 7'2" MH/F

My personal preference would be the Big Boy.  Big Boys are super heavy duty and seems to be very finely made.

My fishing partner uses a Berkley Lightning stick, 7'6" H for frogs.  It seems to work well.  $50 or so.

I would have to say any flipping stick would work all right.  However in this price range I would have to say a 7ft MH or H Falcon Original would be a good choice.

Also tackle warehouse is having a sale on Shimano Clarus rods...you can get a Heavy Stick for around $60...or I saw a Daiwa Frog Rod in the classifieds here for $100

I am using a BPS Bionic Blade 7'6" MH flipping stick.  I like it a lot.
