That kinda depends on you and what you plan to throw, doesn't it?

well what size lures i can throw im not really worried about but do i need the extra backbone for a crank rod? i have a GL3 MH that i use for jigs and worms

I would suggest the Medium Heavy.

But that is just me.

Buy the one you think will suit your needs best and then start saving for the other one.

You can't have too many bass fishing rods.   ;D

If you're only buying one crankbait rod and you like to fish deep cranks, go with the medium-heavy because the vast majority of the deep-divers will be a 1/2 ounce and up.  This will allow you to fish both shallow and deep with cranks.  If you rarely go deep and you don't use larger crankbaits shallow , or you're not buying only one crankbait rod, go with the medium.
