Does it really make a difference if you line your reel in the opposite direction of the spool? After fillin my reel my friend informed me i would get more bird nest for doing it backwards, but I never had any trouble while casting during the outing. Not sayin I didn't birdnest once or twice but he did as well.

how you spool your reels is very importain. dont try anything weird.

After you get a couple of layers of line on, drop your rod tip toward the spool. If your line starts twisting up...you're putting it on backwards ...
