Okuma Problem?

Featured Replies

I bought a Okuma swimbait rod a couple months ago and I have been feeling roughness when letting line out. Well, today I checked my rod out and I noticed the guide on the tip has grooves in it from my line! I use 25lb mono. Is this normal? Or should it be covered under warranty?

That is not normal. Like RM said contact them, I had to use their warranty service and is excellent.

i know a couple of guys that had small issues with some of their larger musky reels and okuma's service dept handled it with A+A+A+A customer support.

i also know that the head hauncho is on a musky board i frequent and is always open to discuss any issues openly and will help.

dont know much about their product but if their customer service is any indication...top drawer!

Wow, top notch customer service! Gave them a email and they said call them up to get it all sorted out. No questions asked. They simply said cut the guide and model number off the rod and send it along with 14.95 for shipping.

This is what we need... a company to stand behind their products with little hassle.

Kudo's for Okuma and their customer support, it is very refreshing!

Wow, I might have to call them. I ordered a guide select rod (not the big bait) and after fishing with it a few times I noticed one of the guides had some of the resin/glue in it.
