  1. I think that is a womanly product... when i first read the heading of this thread, my first reaction was that you tried the diawa zillion... ;)
  2. i have the parabolic b/c and really like it. i too dont like the hook holder, even though it has not been an issue functionally. the guides are different...both in material and looks. but what is the problem with them? i have yet to see anything wrong with them...if anything they may be beneficial when using braid (some older guides couldnt handle braid very well). maybe someone could let me know what the problem with the guides actually is...?
  3. Fished the Rideau at Merrickville every year when I was a kid. We used to pitch a tent at the lock...as long as it was taken down each day the lockmaster didnt care. Largest bass Ive seen came from there and was an 8#'er.

Nuclear medicine...and run some cattle at home, and let me tell ya with these prices I could just cry.
  5. Did you guys have the opportunity to fish for Payara? Which outfit did you stay with?
  6. not sure how much more of a pain it is to ship to Canada? and the cost isnt much greater...i get rods 9ft 'ers shipped up to Saskatchewan anywhere from 20 - 30 bucks.
  7. i agree...no need to change the line if its for a one off. but if you do, i think sufix is the best braid out there now... i have been using PowerPro for years on my musky fishing and have now changed all my reels that have braid to the Sufix...for both bass and musky. if your reel has large capacity, keep some of the mono on as backing to the braid...no need to fill the entire reel with expensive braid.
  8. I have the TE and really like it... I dont think you can beat it for the price right now. The best reel? No...but very good!
  9. years ago, after a great day of fishing i forgot a clear plano box on the deck of my boat...only to find it a couple of days later with a glob of plastic bait inside.
  10. My overall view is whether using single hooks or trebles... singles...hard set trebles...sweeping with constant pressure if you are using good quality and sharp...cant say it enough, SHARP... hooks, the mouthful of metal with a treble, you dont want to "ram it home"
  11. This is what we need... a company to stand behind their products with little hassle. Kudo's for Okuma and their customer support, it is very refreshing!
  12. I only have two in the musky lineup. Very, very nice rods. For my musky fishing, I would say they are the best rods I own, if not the best available.
  13. You must have gotten bad rods. My Carrot is ironing my pants as I type this.
  14. got the 7'3" parabolic and like it very much...no problems with mine, maybe i got a bad one... :-/
