What knot do i use to secure the line to the arbor of the reel? Ive tied arbor knots, but they keep slipping if I pull hard enough. Any recommendations?

you might want to attach a couple yards of mono as backing to the spool first.  Then tie the spiderwire to the mono, and it should stop it from slipping.  I like the blood knot for this, but there are others you can use.

Or wrap a piece of electrical tape on it first then tie your line on.

Id suggest using backing aswell, Ive seen too many drag problems with just braided lines. You can use a Uni-knot to attach the braid to the mono.

I Agree with using mono first. Not only will you avoid "slipping" and drag issues but its also cheaper to fill part of the spool with mono rather than the more expensive braid.
