What do you use to wipe your rods down?

Featured Replies

I've used Pledge (because it's handy) to wipe my rods down for years. Is there something better to use?

Quick detailer that is found in the automotive section at wal-mart or at your local auto parts store.  Meguiars, Ealge One, Mothers, etc. all make a quick detail spray.  I apply it liberally to my rod and reel... it cleans and makes them shine as well!

I've never wiped down a rod in my life.

Thanks for all your suggestions. RM I really appreciate your comprehensive information. It now resides on my harddrive.

I use a rag with plain old water. I just wipe off the surface dirt and the cork handle. It takes about a day for the cork to lose that fishy smell.
