Looking for a new Crankbait Rod

Featured Replies

What's a good crankbait rod for under $50? Looking for a 7' Medium or Medium/Heavy. Primarily going to be used for medium cranking (Bandit 300's).

Believe it or not, an ugly stick is a very good cranking rod, if you can stand to be seen with it.  ...lol  They have a mod action and are under your budget.  I don't know if you'll find many options for a technique specific cranking rod in the under $50 range.  Maybe one of the All Star Classic series or Berkley cranking rods are still priced there.

BPS Crankin Stik is on sale now for under $50 i believe it is $39

The Crankin Stik would probably be your best bet in this price range.

I just saw those, the 6'2" seems short to me for cranking? The shortest rod I use is 6'6" medium.

I also see they have the Berkley Bionix Crankbait rods on sale but that big rod will wear you out if you throw it long.

I think I'll try the Crankin Stik and see how I like it with 12lb flouro.

An Ugly stick is a great crankbait rod. You really can't beat it for the price.

Couldn't agree more.  I own two.  The first I bought quite a few years ago.  I have beaten the crap outta that thing and it's still crankin' away.

Thanks guys, I'm going to order me two of the 7' M/H rods. I've never used the Crankin' Stick so hopefully I'll like it.

I wish we had a BPS nearby so I could avoid all the shipping and handling mess.  :-/
