new curado gear ratio?

Featured Replies

I went to my local tackle shop today and was talking to them about the new reels. They were getting them in in two weeks. They also told me that the new curados didn't come in the 6:1 only the 7:1 and 5:1. Has anyone else heard this? Is it true? The 6:1 was the ones I normaly buy.

Yup only on the 300E and the 301E series 6.2:1 at a heavy 10.5 oz weight.... :)

Were the Citica 200E and 201E series 6.2:1 at a more reasonable 7.8 oz weight.. ;)

Tight Lines!

I pre-ordered my curado friday   ;D  I decided to get the 7 rather than the 5. It seems the 5 is just to slow.

There's a possibility that a 6.2:1 gear set may be fitted inside one or both of the new Curado 200Es. Once the reels have been available to industry insiders for a while and they have time to tinker with them we should know. Cross your fingers.

The new reels are on shimano's web site.
Just checked the site only D series reels there bud, can you provide a link.

I'm on that site almost daily and haven't seen the reels yet. Shimano take for ever to upgrade the site after ICAST, and the new releases usually don't get to the site until they are actually stocked in retailers...
