My old reel

Featured Replies

So i havent fished or touched my fishing pole in about 4-5 years. i am looking to get back in it and i see that my fishing pole reel is a QUANTUM XR3. now i dont know anything about reels, and i was wondering if that reel would work for me to bass fish?

I can tell you it is a discontinued reel (no parts available for service).

Might be time to upgrade to newer equipment...

Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

Since you haven't been fishing since you were 12 , get your self a Berkley Lightn Rod (35.00) and a Shimano Sahara spinning reel(59.00) and see if you are going to enjoy bass fishing.

If you do like it you have got a pretty good starter outfit and if you don't like it then you don't have a lot invested.

Yes it will work for bass. Lube it, spool it up make sure the drag slips and go fishing. If you decide to keep fishing as a major hobby then start to up grade and moderize your tackle per Reelmechanic.
