anyone ever try these strike king coffee tubes? ive heard coffee can be a good scent and they seem to be almost identical to mizmo tubes which i like a lot.  im gonna try them this weekend on the deleware river for smallies.

Coffee flavor tastes good to bronzebacks, especially mixed with a little bacon grease, toast crumbs, grape jelly and egg yolk. Once the sun comes up, or gets close to coming up, Tennessee smallmouth get a hankering for beer and tobacco flavors, too.  At night they seem to prefer whisky!

seems gimicky to me... I am just hoping that this thread dosent flare up another scent/attractant debate!

I don't know what it is about the coffee, but it does work!  I have been pouring baits with coffee for about 2 months now, and I am impressed with how they work.  Now do they work any better than regular scented baits, I don't know.  I have been having great success on the 4" lizards poured with coffee.  I think this whole scent thing just comes down to the old "confidence" factor.

I say gimmick.

As with any other scent deal, if it covers up human scent and if it gives you more confidence, go for it.

I prefer the BANG Pure Craw, just bc it's rendered from real crawfish, and I have had dozens of crawfish claws spit up in my livewells. Never seen any coffee grinds in there.

I think the coffee is a cover scent. I was at a Filene's one day with a buddy of mine and he was trying to pick out a new cologne. After smelling a couple the girl behind the counter pulled out a jar of coffee beans and had him smell them to rid his nostrils of previous smells. Maybe the coffee smell will help cover up offensive odors to fish.

Glenn mentioned these when he returned from ICAST this year. There's a thread around here somewhere....

Now if somebody will make a donut flavored jighead, we'll be set.
