New reel

Featured Replies

I went to Cabelas yesterday to get a new reel, I had been wanting a small spinning reel for bluegill and some small bass fishing.

I had the intention of getting one of the Pfleugers (Medallist I think)that were on sale but ended up buying a Daiwa Exceler 1500.  This reel just felt better to me than the Pflueger or the Symmetre I looked at.

This seems like a lot of reel for $70, and is the first Daiwa spinning reel I have bought ( I own one advantage bc).

Daiwa spinning reels are sweet, the only thing I miss in the Exceler is the Air Bail found in other models. I 've got a Theory and a Revros 2004 ( JDM ) and like them very much, super smooth and not expensive at all.

Good to hear, Aaron. I will probably be buying one of Exceler spinning reels, too. I have the Exceler casting reel and it's unbelievably smooth. Very underrated reels.
