Vicious Flourocarbon

Recommended Posts

Has anyone out there tried Vicious Flourocarbon?

I'm hearing more and more good things about it and want to try it but any firsthand info would be great.

I have used Vicious for a long time. It's very good line, both the fluro and the co-poly and very inexpensive. Just be sure to use KVD Line & Lure Conditioner on it as well as any other lines, it makes a huge difference in how any line casts and handles.

Ive only been using it for a few months, but from what I can tell it is a decent line. I have had no problems with it, and in my opinion for the price you can't beat it.

I agree, good line and good price. And the line conditioner is great for all floro's and mono's.

I bought this line about 4 months ago and I was very leary of using it. Well last month I decided to put it on one of my beeter combos and all I can say is that it surpassed my expectations. I have yet to break off... (knock on wood I didn't just screw myself) and it casts very smoothly.

IMO I would say to buy it. It is worth the money!!

i started using vicious at the end of spring...i like it a lot. at first, i was put off at how white it looked above the water...i couldn't see that it'd be near invisible underwater. regardless, my catch ratio shot up dramatically over mono even when fishing gin clear waters. i read the tackletour tests on flourocarbon lines but, contrary to what they found, this particular is definitely stretches far less than mono. i was seeing and feeling strikes that i think i missed before. the primary reason i fish fluoro though is because it sinks, which helps the action of my plastics. vicious is strong too and far less expensive than the seaguar i had been using. the only drawback i've found so far is that it is pretty thick relative to other lines of a given test.

I bought a 550yrd spool of 8lb flouro last year used it up- my thoughts are it is VERY strong but VERY rigid and not very managable it is the stiffest line out there I have used- at some applications its great but not a well rounded over all line.
