Would this work for swimbaits,and what should my limit be for the size bait im throwing?

If nothing else,would this be a good multipurpose rod for presentations other than swimbaits,such as Carolina Rigs and Jig type baits?

I wasted a lot of time and money on swimbaits and never got a bite. I cant offer any swimbait advice, but it looks like a good deal.

i think the answers to your questions are all yes.

I would stick to the small plastic swimbaits.  Mission fish, mattlures, etc.  When it comes to swimbaits, you don't want to overload your rod rating, you will regret it when you stick a toad

check the other thread '' swim bait setup ???'' , seems alot of knowledgable people say to go with the OKUMA swimbait rods , that's what im gonna get . in my opinion , the rods your looking at would not hold up to swimbaits unless your throwing basstrix or moneyminnows , and those aren't even really swimbaits , at best , the medium heavy action rod your looking at would at best be a fog rod . give some examples of what swim baits your thinking of using ......

That would be a great jig rod & frog rod.

you'll be ok for paddle tail swimbaits and some smaller harder baits.

if you were to lob the baits , but not for casting them ! you need a ''heavy'' rod that has a rating to 3ozs. before you go launching hudds of 6'' or bigger . my opinion is that you'd be pushing your luck with even the mattlures ''crappie'' . get an Okuma swimbait rod in ''heavy'' that way if you want to throw bigger baits you'll be covered . i my self want to cover ALL my bases and am gonna get the Okuma ''xh'' ''H'', and the ''MH'' ( the okuma swimbait MH is rated 3/4-3oz. ) . what i do is research all my options BEFORE i buy something , that way i know i got the right thing for the purpose i intend it for . hope this helps  

yeah, I'm not sure about the big trout swimbaits but I would think you could throw a bluegill. I think the regular version only weighs 1oz if I'm not mistaken. The deluxe is almost 2oz though
