Vicious Flourocarbon

Featured Replies

Is this stuff any good?  How does it compare to other brands?  Thanks.

I LOVE it! The only other flourocarbon I've tried is BPS XPS and its really good also, I think the XPS is a little less stiff but for the money I prefer Vicious :) I also spray it down with KVD line and lure, which helps with the memory. I definatly recommend it! ;D

I had a bad experience with it.  :-/

It's ok. For the money its nice. Though I dont like straight flouro, its a bit too stiff for my taste.... I use the Vicious stuff for leaders and have had good results. Mine was free or I likely wouldnt have tried it (or any flourocarbon) but its not bad. I really do like the Vicious braid though!

I gave it a shot and I'm pretty happy with it.  I haven't had the chance to play around with other brands, so its difficult to compare.  IMO...it good line and it's not as expensive as the others on the market.

Bought 700 yrds of 15lb and now have about 570 yrds of leader material...Didn't like memory, castability, or the stiffness...You can't even tie a secure knot with 20lb....But I'm beginning to think I'm just not a Flouro kinda guy....

I think that makes 2 of us!

I really like the stuff.  In the past I had problems with flourocarbon breaking at the knot, but that just has not happend with this stuff.  I will be purchasing more when my season starts up again.

hey deadeye, I had huge problems with my line breaking at the knot but it was because I was tying a palomar knot. Sure alot of guys are gonna come after this and say "Oh I tie a palomar knot and haven't broken off once" but I'm telling you, once I switched to a san diego jam knot I honestly haven't broken off one fish. Give it a try.

I've had problems with it too.  Breaks not only at the knot, but everywhere, not too abrasion resistant. :'(  I've tried P-Line Fluoro and Vanish and have had no issues like I did with Vicious.

Thanks for the info guys.  I figure I might as well try it.  You can't beat the price.  I usually use Berkley 100%, or P-Line, but it gets way too expensive re-lining rods before every tournament.

Triple-Fish makes a good one too, in the medium price range.

i dont really use anything but fluorocarbon  and i use Berkley vanish 14lbs test ive never had a problem with it i tie a clinch knot.

Its okay, but P-Line 100% is WAY BETTER!
