Shimano Symetre question

Featured Replies

I got a real neat Symetre 2500FJ for Christmas. I really like the Symetre reels and have a couple. But I don't know what the J stands for. Do any of you Shimano experts know?

It stands for the version or iteration of the reel in Shimano's line up. The symetre before the "J" is the Symetre FI.

Remember the "old Greenie Curado? That was the Curado B.  They skipped C, but next came the short lived Curado D.  And as you probably know, the latest is the Curado E.

Thanks Islandbass I did not know they did that with the Symetres. They are a smooth, dependable reel for the price.

Only gripe w/ the 2009 Symetre/Sahara/Sedona is now they don't come w/ a spare spool & the price jumped by $20.  These were value dependable reel, now if you want a spare spool it'll run you $25-30 for the spare spool.
