Im debating on which new shimano reel to get.

Shimano Citica vs. Shimano Curado

Which is better and can you give me some thoughts about either?

Get the Curado. I have both, and both are great reels. However, if you get the Citica you will want the Curado.

I would get a Citica. I've heard that the difference between a Citica and Curado don't warrant the higher price. And that was from a buddy who heard it from a Shimano rep.

To me it would depend on th gear ratio you wanted. The curado is available in 5:1 or 7:1 while the citica is only available in 6:1. If your not concerned with the ratio then I would probably go for the curado just because I IMO its a little bit higher quality

I have both and prefer the curado.  It is much smoother and feels more solid when setting the hook.  

The Curado is worth the extra money.  The spool is more free and the larger paddles on the handle make for an easier retrieve.

If your using lighter lures id go with a curado or if u need a burner...If ur useing 3/8 oz or heavier go with a citica... i have a curado and love it but will be buying a citica soon ;D
