Daiwa S Baitcast Rod

Recommended Posts

I've been eyeing the 6'3" MH for topwater & Pointer use.

Any of you guys still use this rod, if so how good is it?  I tried the one I mentioned & put a Daiwa Fuego & a Shimano Curado 101D & Citica 201E on it & I like how low the reel sits on the reel seat.  I can really palm the reel w/ the Daiwa S rod.  Just not sure how well they handle & the sensitivity.  I understand that not too long ago, they were a very popular rod used by the pro's.

I had one 8 years ago. lol. That was a strong rod; I catch a 22 lb Trairao with it. It was a 6'3" rod rated for lines between 8-20lb. It isn't with me now because my dad dropped it in the water ;)  I can't compare it with more modern rods, but I recall it casted well and I liked it for topwater and jerkbaits. I did not use it for bass fishing.

I've never used a Daiwa S but I have used the Team Daiwa Light & Tough rods.  I think they are like $20 more then the S rods.  They are great rods.  Can feel every little bump in your bait.  Just my 2 cents

Hey ghost. I have a Light & Tough, 6'3" MH that I no longer use.

Sells for around $130 new. I've had it for three years, and used it a lot the first two years.

Make me an offer. I have a couple of tubes, so shipping will be just what USPS charges.
