Carwax for exterior of reels?

I just did it to my new Supreme. Also did my entire rod (not the cork of course). In fact I'll end up doing all of my rigs.

I make sure to get the spool lip and guides real good. Maybe I'm full of crap but I think I get a little more distance. Can't hurt.

I have been using Eagle One NanoWax (not allowed to post URLs yet) on both my rods and reels for almost a year. Easy to apply, provides some protection, and looks good 8-)

Eagle One NanoWax

Yep, good stuff for the reels and rods.  I use it too.

I've been using my Bass Boat Saver on my rods and reels. This stuff seems to work on just about everything!!!!

For years I have been using Lemon Pledge on my rods and then give the reels a quick wipe down with it as well.

+1.  But I never spray on directly.  I spray it on the rag lightly then wipe the rod down.

I've tried car wax on a rod before, but if any gets on the eyes it can cake in the nooks and crannies and turn white when it dries.  Doesn't hurt anything but it looks awful.

Try using KVD Line & Lure as your rod/reel protectant.  Better UV block and anti-corrosive then any of the others mentioned here and you get the great line conditioning to boot.

For you boat's protection try BTS.  I guarantee that you will be impressed.  Even compared to Bass Boat Saver.

Rob, do you suggest we spray KVD line & lure on our reels and let it dry? or spray on and then wipe off??

Rob

Either way, but I prefer to spray it on and let dry.  Then wipe to a great shine.  You really won't find a better protectant for your gear.  I have heard some say that they use L&L in their line but try to keep it off their reels...They are missing one of the great things that L&L can do for them.
