Hi-Vis Yellow

Featured Replies

I've been using Moss Green Power Pro on all my reels for years with great success, but this year I've made up my mind and I'm changing over to Hi-Vis Yellow mainly for line watching since I jig a lot.

I hesitated switching over simply because of the line visibility and I know I can always tie on a fluoro leader, but will this bright color have an effect on my catch ratio without a leader?

I still have doubts about the switch since I have no experience with the Hi-Vis Yellow, but on the other hand, it'll be so much easier on the eyes.

Thoughts?

That is the only color Power Pro that I have ever used.  In really clear or shallow water I use a leader but I have only seen adverse effects in January and February here in MO without the leader.

Line visibility can be important for you or for the fish ? sometimes yes, if you fish crystal clear water all the time I feel line visibility is important to the fish.

But, how about you ? one of the main reasons I don 't like fluorocarbon is that it blends so well that I can 't see the line and for me line visibility is important, I 'm short sighted and have to see the line to maneuver my cranks through timber or I need to see the line to detect is a fish is sniffing at a worm.

You got any idea how many times a fish bites a soft plastics and you didn 't know it was doing so ? many, many times the only thing that tells you a fish got you bait is because you see the line moving a little.

Switch over if you line watch alot.  Your eyes will thank you.

You can also try the sufix neon fire which is a bright orange.  In terms of color I like this one the best as to me it seems a bit easier to see than the yellow.

I've been using the Gold color Stren Super Braid since it was first introduced. The bass don't seen to be afraid of the .010 inch diameter 30# thread no matter what the water clarity is.
