Curado E vs Chronarch B

Featured Replies

I have fished the Curado but never the Chronarch because I could not justify the extra cost. Now that the Chronarch B is on clearence at about the same price as the Curado E, I would like your opinion on which reel you think is better.

The Chronarch is a better reel in all aspects but one -----> weight.

I agree w/ Raul...but I own both.  Got the 201E7 a few months ago & bought the Chronarch 101B a couple weeks ago when BPS finally clearanced them out.  The weight on the Chronarch B isn't that bad, it balances out well on most of the rods I have & most of the rods are 6'9" & longer.  Also the color matches better w/ these rods.  Also I like the look of the Chronarch B than the new D model.

That's a tough call, you'll have to handle both to see which you like best.

Look at it this way:

No matter how, you are getting a 270 dollars reel for 187, that 's a 70+ dollars savings.

You get a cold forged handle, not stamped metal.

You get a super tough and durable finish, not paint and clear coat.

I 've got 2 Metanium XTs ( JDM version of the Chronarch ), I was about to purchase a Curado ----> BaitMonkey whispered in my ear and now I 'm the proud owner of a Chronarch ( arrived today )  ::D.

The Chronarch the best reel I have used to date, but keep in mind size and weight isn't a big deal to me. Either way I have never used such a smooth reel. It can also cast the lightest lures with ease.
