Daiwa BC Question: Reengaging the clutch with the clutch bar

Featured Replies

I've noticed on my Zillions and Fuegos that you can reengage the clutch by pushing the clutch bar up.  This is new to me.  You can't do that with Revos.  I'm wondering if this is any harder on the reel than reengaging the clutch by turning the handle?

I think all Daiwa reels do that.

I can't imagine it being any harder on the reel unless you try and engage it while you are reeling.  What made you want to do this versus turning the handle?

Nothing.  It's just that I can now if I want to.   :D

Might come in handy when I'm flipping and knock my Coke over.  I can upright my Coke and reengage my clutch at the same time.

I hate it when that happens.

You do know that Cart 7 will try to get his hybrid reel to do this now? ::D

You should have one there with ya to check and see if it does.

When I saw that you had replied, I remembered that I had one setting here on the counter next to me.

Just tried it and yep, it works.

My Procaster Rojo does it.

Hybrid reel?!   That is classified information!  You could get whacked for knowing stuff like that....

It is the Daiwa version of a flipping switch, called Autocast® clutch.
