P Line CXX

Featured Replies

Trying to find a line to throw small shad raps and small jerk baits and even smaller cranks. Would this P Line CXX be alright i have used it but only in 4lb test. Looking to use it in 8lb test on a spinning outfit. Anyone have any opinions on this?

I 've fished 6, 8, 12 lbs test CXX, for what you want it 8 lbs is more than enough, it 's still hair thin like & manageable while being ridiculously strong.

Awesome stuff. Just like anything else it has it's disadvantages. CXX seems to have a little more memory than other brands of the same size, but the abrasion resistance and toughness is more than worth it imo. A little KVD line and lure conditioner the night before and at the end of each day fishing does wonders for the memory.

The stuff is crazy strong.  I have really struggled to break 8 lb. test after getting hung up.

The Wal-Mart here was eliminating their P-Line inventory last month and had 8,10,15lb spools for $5.  I bought some 8 and 10 lb spools and the 10 lb straightened an arkie jig hook I had without breaking

With 12 lbs I uprooted and lifted a stump, the line didn 't even cough.  :D

I broke a heavy wire Jig hook with 17 lb. CXX.

I couldn't break it with my arms so I wrapped it around my body and just started doing circles.  I felt something give and that something happened to be the hook.  It was a 1/2 oz. Booyah Jig if I remember correctly.

:D
