loomis sr782-1--Worm n jig rod v. MB rods

Featured Replies

Does anybody have this rod. What is the difference betweeen the SJR line and SR line? Found a smoking deal on a sr782-1 but not sure if it has enough backbone for anything except panfish or trout, I can't hold the rod in my hand to tell for myself so I need some opinions.

What is the difference between the worm and jig rod and the MB rods specifically the GLX lines.  I am looking to get something in that 784, 844 area and just wondered what is the difference besides the inch or 2

I have the SJR782 and it has a lot of backbone, more than my GraphiteLeader Bosco ( ML, which I also use for bass fishing ) and it 's far from being a panfish rod, excellent rod for finesse applications.

The SJR series is a very different blank...

look at the ratings on the Loomis site.  The written descriptions say it all:

the sr782  "Makes a great deep-water ultra-light crappie rod."

sjr782 "A good choice for fishing minnow baits like the Long-A and Rapala, and the preferred rod for split-shotting worms and grubs. If your preference for bass is spin over cast, this is a good-no, make that great rod."
