other than 6 inches what is the difference in the way they fish?  I am going to get 1 or the other but can't decide.  I will be using it for jigs, worms, and some light swimbaits like money minnows and such.

any info would be helpful considering I have to order whichever one I decide on and have never played around with either.

Don't know about the 784, but the GLX MBR844C is the standard

by which all others are measured. I have other favorite rods, but

this is my FAVORITE.

As RW said, the 844 is pretty much the standard as far as jig rods are concerned.  The rod will work for jigs, C-rigs, and heavier spinnerbaits.  I have owned a 784 and really liked it for short range work, but the 844 is more versatile and has a better tip than the 784 IMHO.
