Anyone have any experience with the St croix Avid Flyrod?

Featured Replies

BPS has them on sale at an extremely discounted price, with some good reviews. Can anyone else comment on them?

Thanks

My older brother and my two older cousins have had theirs for going on I believe seven years. I believe they changed them since then. I've used it a hand full of times and really like it. It's cast small dries as well as streamers really well. To me it's more of a moderate fast action (compared to the sage FLI that I use.) It's a really good rod for it's price and if it's on clearance I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

Also St Croix customer service is awesome. I've had to turn in a couple fly rods for repair and had no problems what so ever. They're a great company and also make great flyrods. Hope this helps.

I havent used the St. Croix fly rods so I cant comment on them. I will say give Temple Fork Outfitters Rods a look. They are great rods for the money and carry a really good warranty.
