Braid for this application?

Featured Replies

I've been researching this for a while, just wondered what type line, flouro, mono, or braid are you folks using for your swimbait line?

Tru tungsten 4" swimbait to be specific.

Any major drawbacks to vis of braid, I normally fish clear water.

Thanks

I have used both braid and 20lb mono on my soft swimbaits, and in the Potomac (not clear water) it makes no difference.  I moved to mono to provide a little more give when the bass hits the swimbait.

12# CXX for hard swimbaits <1.5 oz.

I'm considering 40# braid for soft hollow belly swimbaits.

I use 20lb P-line CXX if the fish will let me get away with it, otherwise I drop down to 15lb P-Line CXX

Thanks for the response guys, I've read a lot about how strong the CXX line is. Never used it before, but am gonna spool it up and give it a try!
