I seem to hear most people say they prefer floro for fishing jerkbaits because of its sensitivity and the fact that it sinks and will get and keep your bait down deeper.

I read somewhere lately that this particular author always uses mono because floro makes the front of the bait sit with the nose of the bait (because the line sinks) lower than the back of the bait while its sitting there suspended between jerks. He stated that mono makes the nose of the bait sit up higher because the mono is trying to float. This author seems to think that the nose (front) of the bait sitting up higher draws more stikes.

Just wondered what you guys prefer and why...

The fluro does sink and tend to pull the nose down where the mono does not sink hence the nose stays up and the bait does seem to have a better profile.  With that said I do prefer to use mono for jerk baits but lately I have been trying some Yo-Zuri Hybrid line with good success.

I'm usually fishing pretty clear water and the fluorocarbon helps get it down deeper and assists in bite detection with less stretch (particularly when you're trying to convince yourself to let it hang...)

I started using Floro for jerkbaits the last few times I went out last fall and have used it the 2 or 3 times I've been out this spring. I had always used Mono prior to that. The Floro feels completely different than what I'm used to while working a jerkbait. I assume that's because of the reduction in stretch in the 2 lines.

If I decide to continue to use the Floro, it's going to be a while before I feel as comfortable with it as I'd become with working jerkbaits on Mono for the last 20 years.

I'm not saying that I don't like the way it feels, it's just considerably different!

You could make life really easy and save your arms, shoulders, and wrists and go to flouro on a spinning rod...

mono also has more stretch and that nice when you have treble hooks but the benefits of fluoro>mono in clear water.  

I use power pro braid for hard jerkbaits, with a 12 pound fluorocarbon leader.

I like Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Everytime I fish it I am sold a little more.
