I think the problems with memory and loops etc are operator error. Especially the Y/Z hybrid. Has to be the strongest per diameter, I've used. On a small spooled Supreme spinning reel with ZERO, ZERO,ZERO problems.

The breaking problems are due to poor knot selection and execution. The line will break if there is a poor knot tied.

In the case of flouro think of it breaking like snapping a toothpick. It snaps at kinks in the line. Mono will stretch and fatigue, then break.
