I'm going to be purchasing a c-rig rod this spring. I'm new to this technique and wondering what to look for in the right rod. Baitcasting or Spinning? Rod action? Power?  Are technique specific rods worth the extra investment?   :-/    thanks for your input

my suggestion would be baitcasting 7'-7'6" mh-h, fast. the 7'2" shimano cumaras are supposed to be pretty good for this technique. i can't speak for them personally though. i use my 7'6" BPS nitro on the rare occasion i throw a c-rig. hope this was some help.

I use a G Loomis Mossyback BCR874 (their Carolina Rod).  They do have a GLX version of this rod (which I steered away from, because I like to use braid for Carolina Rigging and braid & ReCoil guides don't get along).  Overall, I am very pleased with this rod.

I use a 7'hvy falcon lowrider "lizard dragger" ....it is great for C-rigs, its light and wont break the bank...I also have a falcon cara "lizard dragger", but I use it for dragging F-jigs instead...great rods though

    I use a 7' Meduim Heavy rod with a Quantum Burst 7.1:0 gear ratio baitcasting reel.  My rod by the way is a Field and Stream IM6 graphite.  I am looking to get another one because the rod isn't very sensitive, I will stick with the same action and lenght though.

    The line that I use is 20# Sufix monofilament for the main line and 15# P-line flourocarbon leader of about 1-2'.
