When i was fishing the other day i decided to add some of this scent i bought to my spinnerbait. As soon as i put it on and started my retrive i had a vicious strike and set the hook for my first bass of the day. I continued to use it and also continued to catch fish, one thing i did experiment with was not using it after it wore off, and i did not have any hits, and when i put it back on i did  8-) ...Theres different kinds of it, the type i have is called "live" its squirt on and sticky.   One thing i do know about this lure is that it dosent repel fish, so why not use it right? -WM

i might use it for confidence but personally i dont think it matters....but hey if your catchin more fish with it than without it why not?

Walmart sells that brand of attractant.  I have never used it, but the catfish guys I talk to swear by it.

I am currently testing Mustads Ultrabite.   Gonna see if it works like they say.

The original baitmate gamefish was an anise based scent.  Does it smell like black licorisce (sp?)

Hey Mikey: I tried that stuff before just the Classic stuff. I still have it, I didnt notice any improvement using it. The stuff you have is their top of the line stuff I think which has everything in it. The only attractent ive noticed atleast a little edge from is MegaStrike and its cheap to. You can get a tube of it for 7 dollars. Its gel also so you only need a pinch of it on your bait. I have a tube that isnt even a 1/4 gone and ive been using it a lot. Another good one is a spray on Craw Oil I use on my craw like plastics or craw cranks. It comes in a red aersol can and seems to always be sold out next to the MegaStrike. You can purchase both at Dicks Sporting Goods. Im a true believer in this stuff. I also caught my 3.6 pound walleye while adding it. For now im going to continue to use it, it was only five dollars for a bottle, and it seems to be working!!! Ive experimented with it multiple times and got the same results, without using it the fish were short striking and werent grabbing the lure aggresive enough to catch a hook! Than wwhen i freshened it up with some scent and flavor, the fish were nailing it, really im almost 98% sure this stuff helps increase strikes. I suggest you all give it a try if you cannot get MegaStrike. -WM

I did catch one is was so dinkish i coulnd't bring myself to take a picture for fear of somone seeing me posing with a minnow ;D, But i did get a lot of bites one hit it like a train but i didnt set the hook. Anyway i usually put a little on my fingers just to kill whatever scents a fish might not like, dont know if it helps or not does anyone else do that??

well ive had that bottle for months i lost the tops for it a while ago and thats where the ideah came from , i was apllying it with my hands and i thought even when i dont use this on the bait ill put a little on my finger tips to not smell up the line or hook

I was fishing with shiners all day last marh during spawning in the st.johns river. Didn't catch one till i put some on my shiner. Nice 2 1/2 pounder.

I use Baitmate or fish formula II, both can be bought for under $5.00 a bottle, I will add pure anise oil to each.

I don't use it much for spinner bait but use it a lot on plastics or jigs, any slow moving baits.

I proven hundreds of time to other anglers it does work, at least where I fish.
