I was wondering what the different between the line weigth like I fish the line lb like a 8- 14 lb test line but I see alot of other people use 25- 50 lb test line that the pro fisherman use so what the different  of the line weight ?

heavier # test is stronger, thicker and more visible.

also heavier # test retains more memory when using mono, flouro or a hybrid.

That LB test is the "breaking strength". I put quotes because some breaks at a higher pressure and some line occasionally isn't as strong as it says.

Different techniques are better suited with certain types of line and pound test.

You should really look at diameters versus a manufacturers rating (which are always inflated.  Pline CXX's 10lb line for example...breaks at around 20lbs dry, but it is a .014" line.
