Citica E and D

Featured Replies

The D has a much larger profile, a wiffle spool, and I think it has one more bearing and the handle may be longer.

yeah, from what ive read its a totally different animal...

As far as I know they share the same gear ratio, the D may be able to cast smaller baits further thanks to the lighter spool. Ive never used them but Ive compared both side by side and if the D wasnt so large Id probably choose it over the E.

i have the 201d. the profile doesnt bother me at all. i actually think its quite comfortable on the compre rod.

the E is lighter in weight , has the smaller profile and i think less line capacity (correct me if im wrong). id say , just pick up a used D since they sell cheap and wait untill the E's come down some.

I have both and I GREATLY prefer the E

The Citica E is a much better reel overall.  Lighter, smoother and casts very nicely, even casts lighter lures fairly good as well.

Later, :D

I have and love both versions of the Citica, but the E is a far better reel than then D.

i had some Ds and, other than the 100D, i never really cared much for them because of their heft. the E-series are so much lighter and smaller and they cast great.
