My daiwa megaforce has never worked properly. It's useable but the magnetic breaks do not work at all. I see no difference in using the 10 setting compared to the off setting, and often times turning the reel handle doesn't engage the spool, so I have to push the thumbar up in order to start reeling. how do I fix this?

Sounds to me like the center mag ring has broken lose, and, when you turn the dial to make the adjustments that ring is slipping and causing a constant zero setting.

YOU don't!

If the reel is still under warranty then send it in and have the factory repair/replace it. If no warranty then send it to me....
