Question about this old ryobi reel.

Featured Replies

I found a ryobi spin cast real in my attic today. It says "powerful M1" on it. Is this reel a decent reel that I can use or is it a total POS. Ill post pics if necessary.

I can 't speak about that reel in particular, I own two Ryobi reels, a V-Mag 3 ( bc ) and a B2 ( spinning ), both are decent reels ( compared to more modern reels ) and both served me well for several years before I retired them.

Like Raul, I have a few of the old V-mags. Fun reels in their day (because we didn't know any better), but have been long time retired now.

Ryobi stopped producing fishing gear back in the 90's.

You can still find some that are in decent shape on the net, but you will find no support for them anywhere...
