Carrot Stix Deal

Featured Replies

Anyone in the Minneapolis area, a local tackle shop called Thorne Brothers has Carrot Stix at 30% off retail price.  They have about 2 Gold Series left and about 8-10 LTX series.  They are clearing out inventory because they are just not selling much of them (more of a musky shop).

Most are Medium Power Casting Rods.  They have an online website but the deal is at the store only.  I fed the bait monkey and hope you do too.

You guys should jump on this deal if your looking for a quality rod on the cheap. A friend who owns a tackle business was selling them for $100 so I picked up two of 'em and I couldn't be happier.

Our of curiosity what makes these rods so attractive?  I have seen a few being used by people (kind of hard to miss) but have yet to read up or look into the hype.

bass bass bass...for the money they cant be beat they run with the big boy rods ($300-400) huge savings, they are strong, lite, and super sen. plus believe it or not they are actualy made from carrots (nano fiber i.e hightech sicence b.s  ;D )they can be ugly to some but pick one up sometime and youll see what the hype and all the rave is about.i prefer it to my croix's and loomis, lifetime warranty to for an asking price of $150...its a steal trust me or anyone who owns one.

Yeah no kidding about them being hard to miss, you can see 'em about 300 yards across the lake lol! As far as what makes them so attractive...

For the price, they are absolutely amazing rods and they are definitely the best rods in their price range IMO. They are ridiculously light, have very comfortable grips, and, while they aren't as sensitive as my IMXs, they are still pretty darn sensitive. I wouldn't go as far as to say that they run with rods in the $300-400 range, but they are very competitive within the $150-200 price range. I don't know anybody who has one that doesn't like it.

I picked one up and it is amazingly light. I cannot wait to try it on the water. The tackle shop said that they bought a ton anticipating higher demand that never came. I may be in an area with other species are more heavily targeted (i.e. walleye and musky).

The pluses of the rod are its weight, sensitivity and lifetime warranty (you can return to them or, supposedly, to any authorized dealer). So, over the counter returns are nice to have. The negatives I have heard are possible breakage and guides. I wouldn't know but those are the comments I have read everywhere. A majority of people love the carrot stix. At a $100, I think it's a steal. There are not many rods in that range that are worth it and perform like a $300+ rod.

Great feedback thanks.

I have heard they are made from Carrots which has always made me chuckle.  I will try and check these out soon so I can see what all of the hype is about.

I am a big fan of College lacrosse, these rods are perfect for Syracuse fans  ;D!!!!

I have yet to use a rod in that price range that can equal the sensitivity. IMO you can honestly feel EVERYTHING. Try one at night with a big thumpin colorado blade. woooooo!!!! you can feel every blade of grass it seems. I also heard AIRRUS makes a killer sensitive rod.

I own 6 of them and number 7 and 8  are right around the corner. They make a killer looking fly rod  and a 8'6 crank rod that isnt tournament legal, but will give me the ability to fish Kentucky lake from West Virginia. I cant say enough how much i love these rods. Very affordable and lifetime warranty.  They make a sweet looking set of golf clubs too.  ;D

No "may be" about it, you are.  And.... the farther north you go the more obvious it becomes, BUT....thats what I love about it here.  All others can have their walleyes and gators, leave them bass for me!!

I fish up around the Mille Lacs area, so you can just imagine how well that plays out for me. ;D
