Curt Gowdy series rod

Featured Replies

I was at a garage sale a few min's ago. A guy was selling tons of rod/reel combo's. Most if not all of it was really low end even when new and was now probably 30years old.

For sentimental value I almost bought a Curt Gowdy signature rod to put on a shelf in my basement. does anyone think it would have any value?

Curtis Edward "Curt" Gowdy (July 31, 1919 February 20, 2006) was an American sportscaster, well-known as the longtime "voice" of the Boston Red Sox..

I would say if your into the sox then it might have some value. From a fishing standpoint IMO No...

Hey Reel Mechanic I wasn't privy to Sox broadcasts in the Midwest. I was thinking of him more from the American sportsman, The Wide World of Sports and the (NFL? broadcasts).

I knew it wouldn't be any value for fishing per se ( not directly anyway ) but more of a "general" collector's item because of his overall career.

It would be nice to buy it and send to ABC or to his son,

Thanks for the feedback
