ACS vs ECS Fuji reel seats

Featured Replies

Is anybody having problems with the newer ACS reel seats? I think it is a great concept, but my hand feels cramped on it. I just picked up a falcon with an ACS seet and I really don't think I it feels right. Do you think it is just because I am used to the ECS seet? Also, does it look like this is the route new rods are going? Looking forward to some peoples input on this.

Don't like them and won't use them on builds..

The way ACS seats are molded force the hand to hold the reel/seat un-naturally.

Tight Lines!!!!

x2!!!! Just very uncomfortable holding the same rod for long periods of time. I refuse to use them as well. It's also a heavier reel seat than the ECS, so adding weight for no real reason.

I like the ACS seats, but they do limit the ways you can palm the reel.  I still much prefer a skeleton type of seat to anything else.  They're not as pretty, but I can position my hand anyway I want and its comfortable.  I have full contact with a larger area of exposed blank as well.

Same here.

They don't fit my hands at all. (and my hands aren't that big)  I applaud the effort in introducing new seats, I just wish it fit me.   ;D

I should clarify here that I won't use them on MY personal rods.

I have set-up one so that prospective clients can feel what the seat actually does and doesn't do. Haven't had to build with one yet....

Tight Lines All!!!

I actually like them on my Falcon rods! They are a little wierd to get used to though!
