I just bought a new abu garcia 5500 for for my worm reel and heaver baits. What line should i use?

What kind of rod do you have it paired with?

6,6 heavy.

50# braid is what I'd put on it.  Use it as a heavy worm / jig rod, could throw frogs with it too.  Pretty short for flipping but make due with what ya have.

Unless you plan on fishing cover a lot, 50 lb power pro is just overkill

50# superline sounds about perfect. It's diameter is that of 10# mono.

10# mono diameter line is not overkill for worm/jig fishing. It may be a little light for serious mat fishing though.

un less your fishing in th jungle 14-17# Floro is perfect... some of the guys here use braid all the time... I wouldn't and i bet they would get a lot more bites if they would use floro... I only use mono for top water.  Braid is not new... got some old stuff from the 60's in my gpas old box... braid has it place just like any thing else... no line is good all the time...
