What brand of line is best for drop shoting ?

Spinning set up...Yo Zuri 6#

Baitcasting...Fireline Braid 15 or 20#

4-6 pound Trilene 100% or Seaguar Invis-x

Sounds light but I have had 20-22 pound bags of smallies  and largies with it. I have NEVER had a fish snap it either. It's all about tiny hooks and a correctly set drag with a whimpy rod.

I've heard that you should use Fluorocarbon or a fluorocarbon leader. Im going to drop shot with a spinning reel..

I use braid for spinning outfit with a either 6lb. or 8lb. flouro leader.  I used to use all flouro, but found that braid adds a little more sensitivity.

No doubt. I use both lines recommended.  People seem to forget that 6# line properly played can bring in a 30# king salmon. Definitely would make short work of a 6# bass, minus cover of course.

6# fc line (invizx) + Spinning rod setup for drop shot = an unfair fight against the fish. poor whittle fishy.

Now go get 'em!  

For light finesse drop shot, I use 15# Power Pro and 4-8# CFX fluoro leader.

All I ever use is fluorocarbon for drop shotting, but I always use a swivel about 2 feet up the line then use a leader. It has always worked well for me.  

I use 10lb Sufix braid with 8-10lb flouro leader.

Last week when I was dropshotting, I was using a 7' medium action rod, baitcaster with 20# XPS fluorocarbon, a 3/0 worm hook, Zoom Trick worm, and a 3/8 oz weight. I'll be doing that again tomorrow. I go lighter like J Francho when conditions warrant, but never use less than 8# XPS fluoro with 20# braid.

you heard right .. 6-8 lbs Fluoro will work nice... I use 7#... Mono works too if your not fishing in gin clear water or around sharp stuff like rocks and docks and trees... there is no need to use braid

There are a lot of braid junkies in this group lol

of course you need a 7' ML rod with the drag set right... and the only time you should be worried about breaking is if you get snaged.. i've pulled in 6&1/2 lbs cats on my drop shot rigs befor and even with their hard runs it was fine, man it was fun though lol
