I'm sure this has been asked before but, I'm looking to start expanding my collection of fishing gear. Right now I just have one baitcast set up and one spinning. What are the common set ups for doing different jobs?

Really a great way to figure this out is to just surf some rod makers' websites.

Good thinking. That was going to be a lot of typing and explaining.

Don't go wish list hunting!

Pick the techniques you think you might want to learn in a priority list.

Try taking a full season to physically/mentally learn just that one technique, as you do you will start to realize what gear you are really going to need.

Point is don't rush it take your time, and do it right..

I def agree with the abouve posts and where you are just starting to build your collection as I am. Try targeting a few key areas such as heavy worms, frogs, heavy cover fishing. To light finess stuff and get the apropriate action that way. A lot of rods will work really well for a few different key areas.
